Entrepreneur and author Barbie Hall Gummin began
her career building a sandwich board advertising company in Newport, RI,
then Washington DC and Ithaca, New York. The business paid her way
through Catholic University and a year at Cornell. Barbie landed a
position at Young & Rubicam Advertising agency in Manhattan with clients
including Lipton, Bristol-Myers and Unilever. Passionate about health
and fitness, Barbie moved to Colorado and created a highly successful
consumer packaged goods promotion company that targeted health clubs
throughout the United States. She enrolled dozens of Fortune 500
companies and thousands of health clubs nationwide in her business.
After
16 years, Barbie sold Promote It to The Active Network then took
a sabbatical to explore next steps in her life. Her new book,
Ka’Ching – How to Make Your Fortune in Midlife describes what it
took to start “Promote It” and her new business, “TLC5 – The
Life Coaching Connection” which launched Labor Day, 2011.
TLC5 was created
to market Life Coaching as a significant industry that improves lives
not only for high net-worth individuals and sports professionals but for
anyone who wants to achieve more in life. TLC5 is a resource for life
coaches and coachees to find each other. Consumers and Life Coaches who
join TLC5’s “Club Fearless” interact through coaching webinars (recorded
and archived for easy access), interactive on-line forums, a blog, daily
Life Coaching Tips and behind the scenes conversations. Consumers are
invited to interview coaches listed in the Club Fearless Directory which
includes coach contact information, photo and bio. TLC5 is reaching out
to member based organizations and sponsors to support the business while
consumers and Life Coaches are charged a nominal membership fee.
