Elena Pell, President of
Equilibria, is a leadership and executive coach with more than 30 years
experience supporting effective individual and organizational transformation in
philanthropic, governmental, business, and non-profit sectors.
Elena has devoted her career to understanding how
leaders and organizations are effectively supported in the process of change.
She has worked for a diverse client base including the Massachusetts Department
of Youth Services, the National Native American AIDS Prevention Center, the
State of Georgia Department of Human Resources, Wachovia Bank Corporation, the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Louisville Making Connections, the
National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, Farmers Insurance Group, the
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, California Tomorrow, the Ethiopian Community
Development Corporation, and the City of Philadelphia.
Elena’s contributions to the field of coaching
and systems transformation have received notable recognition. In 2005 she was
one of 100 consultants selected as a founding Consultant Member of SoL -- the
Society for Organizational Learning (formerly the MIT Center for Organizational
Learning) -- chaired by Peter Senge. She is an active member of SoL’s Coaching
Community of Practice that has been working with government and private industry
to develop a coaching approach that integrates knowledge management and systems
thinking with executive coaching. Elena is also a recipient of the prestigious
Annie E. Casey Foundation Fellowship. The Casey Fellowship is awarded to
exceptional innovators in transforming systems of services and support for
children, families and neighborhoods.
Elena has a BA in Sociology from State
University of New York, and a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia
University. She has also completed significant courses of study at Harvard
University’s Kennedy School of Government and Manchester University in the
United Kingdom. Elena’s prior career experience includes several management and
program positions at the ASPIRA Association, the Ford Foundation, US Basic
Skills Investment Corporation and Mellon Bank Corporation. She has been trained
in group facilitation, systems thinking, mediation, executive transitions,
diversity management, coaching, results-based accountability, conflict
resolution and negotiation. Elena is the author of several publications and has
presented at numerous conferences and forums throughout the USA. She is a member
of the International Coach Federation and board member of the Greater Sarasota
Coaches Alliance.
Elena Pell is a Cuban-American born in Hawaii
and raised on the East Coast of the United States. She currently resides in
Sarasota, Florida.
