Clients I Coach
My clients run the gamut between
high potential people who want to broaden and stretch their skills to seasoned
executives who need to hone their interpersonal skills. I have worked in
multiple industries including high tech, retail, banking, healthcare, and
oil/gas, coaching EVPs, managers, and supervisors. I have helped create
individual coaching plans and team solutions that focus on issues including
enhancing strategic thinking, communication, teamwork, conflict management,
developing others, and change management skills, as well as performance issues
such as limited people skills hindering the overall effectiveness of someone
very technically competent. In addition to line business leaders, I have
coached executives in staff functions such as HR, IT, Finance, and Legal.
Results I Have Achieved
Clients’ results have included:
A newly promoted General Manager ramped up more
quickly in the role, especially regarding communicating/managing upward,
building new relationships, and strategic planning for the Division.
An HR Director’s team improved their internal
customer satisfaction by better managing performance, addressing poor performers
on the team and enhancing their communication/processes with customers.
A VP’s total change in approach to peer conflict
resolution, from combative to collaborative partnering, resulting in speedier
resolution of mission-critical issues.
A VP responsible for multiple, geographically
dispersed labs needed help assessing talent, aligning goals, processes, and
people, and coaching subordinates to meet new challenges, thereby achieving
greater productivity and employee morale.
What a Coaching Relationship with Me is Like
Experienced in business management and coaching, I recognize that people need a
sounding board and trusted external partner who will help them analyze
challenges, identify obstacles, and practice new behaviors. Coaching
provides a mirror for leveraging strengths in different ways and debriefing
lessons learned. My role is to ask tough questions and challenge you to think
from a different perspective to come up with better solutions and approaches
that will increase business results and leadership effectiveness.
Professional History
I have worked as a coach with The Curtiss Group and PDI consulting firms
for many years, and have been professionally engaged for over 30 years in
several settings such as internal consultant to the Executive Team through a
massive re-engineering process and significant culture change. As an
operations manager, I had hundreds of people reporting to me. As an internal HR
executive, I have served as an internal executive coach in addition to
re-vamping succession management and performance management systems in the
retail and healthcare industries. In addition I have worked in state government
and educational administration.
Academic Achievements
I have a B.S. and M.S. in Business Administration
from Pennsylvania State University and New York University respectively.
My Ph.D. is in Vocational Education from Michigan State University.
Key Message
In today’s competitive business environment, being an
effective leader who maximizes business results is a lot harder than it used to
be. Many feel frustrated along the way at some time and appreciate a coach
who can help them get unstuck. I will craft a specific action plan to help
you analyze and solve complex business and people problems.
