Coaching Philosophy and Approach:
Rhona Post brings a depth of knowledge and wisdom specializing in
public service, navigating change through political and economic
fluctuations; and guiding professionals to embody leadership qualities.
Ms. Post is equally comfortable and effective with both individual or
group/team goals and dynamics.
She uses a three-pronged approach to assess and design coaching or training
programs in their delivery and evaluation. She uses techniques that help each
individual clearly define a vision of what is important to them; implements a
structure that supports their growth; and identifies and builds practices for
clients to fulfill their vision. Ms. Post actively partners with clients,
learning about them at many levels-both from what clients say and what they
don’t say. Her coaching background includes training in both verbal and body
language communication allowing her to connect with what is most important to
her clients: their goals, their work, and their lives. Clients trust her
judgment and business instincts as she asks the questions needed to translate
ideas into action. By helping clients identify and balance both big picture
goals and the daily operations required to move toward that vision, they are
better able to leverage available resources and with greater clarity, achieve
their desired outcomes.
Coaching Domains and My Experience:
Somatic Coaching:
8 years
Certified as a Somatic coach from Strozzi Institute, Ms. Post guides
leaders to better understand and work with their emotional intelligence.
This is an especially effective tool as leaders become more aware of
their impact on others and how their verbal and non-verbal communication
can build bridges or destroy them. She teachers leaders how to give and
receive feedback in neutral moods to build trust, respect and honesty
with employees. As a result, her coaching clients receive the promotions
they deserve and want, and build the political relationships required to
promote innovation and customer service.
Business/Entrepreneurial Coaching For Organizations:
20 years
Ms. Post assists technical professionals to “think, act, and conduct”
business with a greater alignment toward how private sector companies
operate. Her coaching practice helps leaders and their organizations
consistently focus on linking their products and services to their
clients’ results.
Sample Result Using Business and Somatic Coaching:
Her coaching techniques helped a senior executive who inherited a
large organizational restructuring project to improve employee morale
and commitment, balance day-to-day operations with long-term strategic
investments in employee development, and implement recognition programs.
The Business Dialogue model utilized at NASA Goddard increased customer
satisfaction and employee morale by 10%.
Coaching Models:
Ms. Post draws upon more than twenty years of classroom instruction
in professional coaching, is certified by New Ventures West, The Strozzi
Institute and is a Master Certified Coach from the International Coach
Federation. She uses all of these diagnostic and assessment tools to
develop coaching protocols that support and achieve clients’ desired
outcomes.
Success Criteria:
Outcomes are defined as concrete results including: job promotions,
new and more lucrative contracts with clients, increased customer
satisfaction with organizational products and services, increased public
awareness of business products and services, a reduction in grievances
and personnel conflicts in a business unit, and increased support and
responsibility for achieving results from disgruntled workers.
Additionally, leaders who have successfully completed long term coaching
programs (6-12 months) speak to their renewed sense of commitment to
their jobs, greater satisfaction with their relationships (both at work
and at home) and renewed confidence in their ability to achieve results.
