Our programming
year is off to a great start. So far, we have
been inspired to embrace new life experiences
and adventures, have explored how to improve our
health and wellness through intelligent weight
management, and we have been challenged to use
social networking tools that will help us build
our businesses.
With our
April program, GSCA member Rhona Post will offer
us a 10-step coaching plan - "The Art of
Winning." This will be a
do-not-miss miss presentation by Rhona, who was
recently featured as a presenter at the
International Coach Federation convention in
Orlando.
Also below are profiled two of our newest
members; we truly have a wealth of talent and
experience at GSCA!
Hope to see you at our lunch meeting on
April 19!

Get ready for our April 19
program: "The Art of Winning:
Ten Step Self Coaching
Plan"
Presenter
Rhona Post
"Winning is everything,"
Vince Lombardi declared. Whether we define
winning through competition with others, or with
ourselves, we want to know what it takes to feel
successful--at work and at home. The Art
of Winning game plan identifies the ten
major areas of a winner's life, from Telling the
Truth, to Lighting Your Fire. Many of us are
great at giving "life" advice to others, but we
lack the initiative or follow through for
ourselves. Join Rhona Post, a masterful coach,
who blends humor and intuition to quickly "size
up" a situation and point audiences in the
"right direction." You will feel supported to
reframe issues in ways that free you to take
effective action. Included in this ten step
program is an easy to follow game plan.
Professional athletes know that
winning depends on their ability to bring both
head and heart to every game. By following the
Art of Winning program, you'll learn to bring
both head and heart to everything you do.

The
Business Benefits of Executive Coaching
One application of coaching
is working with leaders and other employees
within organizations. The consulting firm HDA
recently announced the results of a survey about
attitudes toward executive coaching. Key
headlines and major trends that were
highlighted:
-
97% of organizations believe that
executive coaching impacts positively on
business performance. This has risen 10% since
the 2008 HDA Survey.
-
97% of respondents believe that
coaching enhances the ease with which changes
are accepted and implemented.
-
Individual and/or team performance
improvement was rated as the main business
benefit observed from executive
coaching.
-
Over 70% of organizations surveyed
offer coaching to employees at all levels - this
has increased by 24% since 2008. Where coaching
is offered only to certain levels, they tend to
be the senior management team, directors or high
potentials.
-
The majority of those responding
(97%) are looking for value for money and
experienced coaches in their coaching
provider.
-
88% of organizations state that
executive coaching provides value for money.
This is down 6% on the 2008 HDA Survey
results.
-
94% of organizations offer
face-to-face rather than online/telephonic
coaching.
-
A growing number of Line Managers
are acting as coaches within organizations.
The report summarizes: "The use of
executive coaching is becoming increasingly
common and this is only set to continue. As the
results of this survey confirm, it is widely
recognized that coaching can be a key factor in
enabling individuals to improve their
performance which in turn can lead to improved
business performance. Alongside improved
individual and business performance, coaching
offers the organization a 'value for money'
means of attracting, engaging and retaining key
talent. However in order to fully realize the
benefits of coaching within your organization,
it is imperative that HR implement a formal
process of monitoring success and measuring
return on investment."
It
is a healthy sign of the integrated role of
executive coaching in many of our organizations
that the next major task is to monitor success
and measure return on investment.
